Trends We Still Love in 2014

Some trends are just around for a moment, and some seem to linger on. We’ve put together a list of a few trends that are still going strong.

MENSWEAR
Herringbone, tweed, houndstooth, paisley, plaid, and pinstripe are just a handful of the menswear inspirations being used in Interior Design. The little black dress of men’s fashion, these elements are timeless classics.

METALLIC
From chrome to copper, we’re still seeing metal everywhere. Whether it’s a simple brass nailhead detail on a chair, or a big dramatic polished nickel chandelier, metal accents can serve as the jewelry of a space.

IKAT
Any and all textiles have been boldly displaying Ikat, and the trend hasn’t showed signs of slowing down just yet. Vibrant and organic, Ikat has a way of adding an elegant energy to any room.

ACRYLIC
This trend from the 60’s and 70’s has been making its way back for a while. It may have been sparked by the beautiful Philippe Starck ghost chairs, but it’s not only traditional pieces that are being done in this retro material.
